As a beginner trader, I have been in the world of trading the stock market for only a few years and I love it. Previously a Warrior Trading student, I carried out the Pro class with Warrior Trading, and I focused on learning to day trade penny stocks, aka small caps stocks.
This video shares my personal day trading setup at home. As I live on a narrowboat I use a basic small trading setup for travel, which provides everything that I need to trade.

My trading setup provides everything that I need to day trade and enables me to trade on a daily basis.

Day Trading Setup for Beginners – Equipment
This trading setup is great for beginners as it is affordable. You don’t need that much equipment to get started day trading, but you do need the right equipment to get going.
Day Trading Setup – Laptop
The most important part of the trading setup if the main processor, whether you prefer a computer or a laptop. I use a Dell gaming laptop for day trading because it has a super fast processer, along with a lot of memory and RAM. Which is essential to efficiently stream trading data and charts for day trading.
To begin with, I was going to settle for a cheaper laptop in an attempt to save my money for my day trading account. However, I find that spending a little more money on a decent laptop is basically essential for day trading efficiently. It would be very risky to trade on a slow glitchy laptop that has the potential of freezing, especially when you are in a trade.
In addition to the ease of travelling, I prefer a laptop over a computer for a number of reasons, including:
- I can have my battery power cable plugged in whilst I am trading. This means that if there is a power cut when I am trading, I know that my laptop will have enough battery life enabling me to safely finish my trade.
- I also like the fact that the keyboard is built-in and I don’t need to be concerned over the keyboard losing power in the middle of trading.
- Overall I find laptops to be more portable and efficient for small living.

Day Trading Setup – Monitors
I have two portable monitors by Asus for day trading. These are high-quality USB monitors which included a protective case and the HDMI-USB cable to plug straight into my laptop. This portable monitor is the same size as my laptop screen which is 15.5″. They are ideal for my trading setup whereby I use two portable ASUS monitors to view my trading charts.
Although the cases that were included can be used as a monitor stand, I chose to purchase a foldable screen stand, which I find to be of better quality for my trading setup.

Day Trading Setup – Foldable Monitor Stand
I have two foldable stands for my two portable monitors which are perfect to support my monitors as well as being small and easy to store! These were super cheap and were great with my screens. You can find my foldable monitor stands here!
