I came across these 6 secrets to become a millionaire watching a webinar interview of Ken Honda, by Mindvalley. Ken Honda is also known as the zen millionaire. He is known worldwide for his incredible personal development books. Whereby in his book Happy Money, Ken shares secrets that he learnt from his mentor, Wahei Takeda who is also known as the Warren Buffet of Japan.

1- Change Your Feelings Towards Money

This can sound easier said than done right?

In order to tackle this secret, it helps to fully understand what your feelings towards money may be. Here is a short simple quiz which will help to uncover any feelings that you have towards money.

For each statement below, simply mark a number between 1-5.

1 – I strongly disagree

5 – I strongly agree.

If I get rich, I will lose the people around me.
If I get rich I wouldn’t be able to trust anyone because people would have a secret agenda.
If I got wealthy, I would have to sacrifice my family or my health or my friendships to get there.
If I got wealthy, I would be less spiritual.
If I got wealthy I would have to compromise some of my values.
To get wealthy, it requires hard work.
With wealth comes greed, selfishness and arrogance.

Once you have read through each statement and allocated your personal feelings, which are represented by the number between 1-5, then you can add up your score!

The total number gives you an idea of the extent of your feelings towards money. This can highlight any fear or doubts that you have present around attaining money. It may surprise you, but these negative feelings will be acting as a block between you and your ability to become a millionaire.

This step is really quite simple:

Remove common beliefs about money that prevent you from bringing money into your life. Which, as a result, will welcome money into your life.

2- Increase Your Money EQ

Before we explore this step, lets firstly clarify some terminologies.

Money IQ is the intellectual aspect of money, such as knowing how to invest, how to purchase property and build an investment portfolio such as stocks etc.

Money EQ represents your emotional intelligence surrounding money. Namely, how healthy you feel towards money and your ability to manage your money, rather than letting your emotions manage your money through fear and greed.

It is important to remember that your emotional state and energy around money is just as important, if not more important, than your money IQ.

From developing our Money EQ through personal development practices such as mindfulness meditation, then we can avoid making money mistakes from a place of fear and frustration.

3- Change Your Relationship With Money

Generally, there are 3 different types of relationships when it comes to money. Being aware of the relationship that you have with money can help in identifying your money EQ type. Furthermore, from understanding your current relationship with money, you are in a place where you can alter and improve it.

4- Change Beliefs Holding You Back

We may not realise it, but our beliefs have an incredible impact on our lives. Following this concept, if we have detrimental beliefs regarding money. Then consequently we create a detrimental environment for money in our lives.

Here are two beliefs that are possibly holding you back from attaining wealth.

1- Money is scary, we need to be careful about money.

Although this is classed as a money myth, for a lot of people this is actually true. Whereby people fight over money and families can be broken up over money. These money related dramas can cause trauma for a lot of people, which can create fear over money.

E.g. if you purchase new items such as a car or a house, you may experience fear. This could be a fear of spending money and making a mistake.

2- Money in the bank doesn’t make you rich

This may be a surprising statement for some. How can a million in your bank not make you feel secure?

Following these concepts shared from zen millionaire Ken Honda; if you feel secure that money flows in at the right time. If you have trust that money flows to you, then you will feel secure. Regardless of your bank account.

5- Heal your old money wounds

Following on from the previous point, how can we change beliefs about money that are holding us back? This is where we need to take it one step deeper and heal old money wounds.

“Money EQ is related to our money wounds. These wounds make up our attitudes and emotions about money, which we inherited from our parents. Their debt and wounds become ours” – Ken Honda.

What are money wounds?

Money wounds may simply be a money related experience that you had when you were younger which was not pleasant.

E.g. You were not allowed something that you wanted, because it was too expensive. Or perhaps you went without basic resources because money was scarce growing up.

These experiences built, maybe on a subconscious level, blocks and restrictions which act as obstacles in your mind, which stop you from achieving money. From acknowledging our money wounds, and practising acceptance and maybe even some forgiveness, we can remove obstacles that stop us from achieving money and wealth.

Remember it’s all about the mindset! Switch your mindset about money and trust that money is available when needed.

6- Utilise the Arigato technique

Ken Hondas’ mentor, Wahei Takeda, stated that this was his secret to attaining wealth. Which was simply to thank you money when you spend it, or ‘arigato‘.

Gratitude is very powerful and this technique utilises gratitude.

E.g. Thank your money when it comes to you, and thank your money when it leaves you. You can send out your blessings when money leaves you and trust it will return to you and bring its friends!

From appreciating your money, you will attract new financial opportunities. It can be helpful to view money as a circular energy. Whereby acknowledging that money is flowing all around and that it is accessible when you need it.

Have you seen the US stock market? What is going on in the economy?

In this video, we’re going to explore the effect that the coronavirus is having on the US stock market. We’re going to look at different stock charts including the $SPY and the $DJI. Along with some data from graphs as well as charts.

Coronavirus Infection Affects the $SPY

Here is a daily chart of the $SPY. It is actually 14:30 for me here in the UK, which means that it is just after 9:30 over in the East Coast and consequently the stock market has just opened. I am quite intrigued to see what is going to unfold.

As you can see from the chart of the $SPY, we had a crazy drop-down last week, which started on the 21st February 2020. Which was just over a week ago, on Friday. On Monday 24th February is when the stock market gapped down and opened considerably lower, due to fears over the coronavirus infection.

During those 5 days of plunging lower on the $SPY, it has dropped just over 1000 points! Previously to this sudden drop on the $SPY, you can see the gradual stair-step uptrend of the bullish trend on the $SPY. However, the bears have now completely dropped down, getting onto the underside of the technical indicators. You can see from the charts that a couple of days blasted through support with no resistance.

Uncertainty and fear from the Coronavirus infection is having a massive impact on the $SPY and the $DJI of the US stock market.

The $DJI follows very much the same pattern as the stock charts for the $SPY. There was a short correction period back in 2018, following this a steady growth with slight pullbacks. However, at the top of all-time highs, we are now experiencing this massive drop lower, due to coronavirus infection fears.

From the close of Friday 21st February to Friday 28th February, the $DJI has dropped 14% in 1 week! Just over 4000 points!

Going Long During Coronavirus Infection Fear?

However as the $SPY was making these huge drops down last week, trade opportunities are still available. As always you can follow the trend and short these positions. However, sometimes it can be quite tricky to find a short on these stocks depending on where you are trading in the world.

But there are some available opportunities for going long, such as trading the $TVIX. Which generally trades in an inverse relationship to the $SPY. The $TVIX has provided some sound opportunities for long positions, during this period of high volatility.

Alongside the $TVIX, Coronavirus infection stocks have also been making some HUGE moves in the market. As always, these volatile moves provide opportunities for day traders to capitalise on the momentum.

What Does This Mean For The Stock Market?

This graph shows confirmed cases from the Coronavirus infection. This data was taken at 11:59 pm 1st March 2020. As you can see, there are just over 88,000 confirmed cases globally of people suffering from the coronavirus infection. Alongside this data, confirmed deaths from the virus currently stand at just under 3000.

However, this has all happened so quickly, and the World Health Organisation is working on creating some treatments for the coronavirus.

Moving onto the last graph, this shows a number of recovered cases. Whereby just over 42,000 people have experienced the coronavirus but are recovering from this. Which is super positive!

Coronavirus Infection Affects The US Stock Market – Conclusion

As the development of the coronavirus infection has been happening extremely quickly. As a result, this has caused tremendous fear and uncertainty in the US stock market, which is being reflected in these extreme moves.

But people are recovering from the coronavirus infection, and there is still hope. Historically, the US stock market is resilient, and there is always the chance that what we are experiencing is a short term correction, before gradually making our way back to all-time highs.

Meanwhile, the extreme volatility in the market continues to provide opportunities for day traders to capitalise on these extreme moves.

I’m Emily from Mindfully trading and it has been a few weeks since my last video!

Thank you for all of your comments and support so far. Some of you have been asking about my progress as it’s been a while since my last video so here is an update for you…

A quick recap for you on my beginner day trading journey…

I started trading live with my small account in September 2019. Focusing mainly on the small-cap strategy from the warrior trading course.

In November 2019, I was halfway through the month and down about $200 when I realised that the small caps strategy was proving too risky and tricky for me.

So halfway through November, I switched from trading small-cap stocks to trading large-cap stocks. The results were amazing. My profit/ loss was an inverse of the previous 2 weeks and I made around $200, which was what I originally lost. As a result, I finished the month up around $16, so not much but still green.

At the time I was so excited for December. I wanted to see the results of this after a month and hopefully start to grow my account and scale up my position sizes, to grow my account further…

In addition, December is historically quite a busy time for trading providing opportunities for momentum trades.

Unexpected News

However at the beginning of December, unfortunately, I had a bereavement in the family which had a knock-on effect in different areas of my life. I have decided to create another video which will dive deeper into this topic. This video will explore the personal problems you can face when day trading for a living.

So back to my small account progress, or lack thereof…

I tried to trade where and when I could, but this only ended up being the odd day in December and the odd day in January. I didn’t trade enough to build any consistency or even to make enough to cover the monthly platform fees of TradeZero which at the time of recording, are $79.

Fast forward to February which, after relocating ( moving onto a narrowboat!), I decided to withdraw my trading account, as I needed the funds.

This was quite frustrating and disappointing, as an aspiring trader never wants to have to withdraw their funds before they have grown them. However this is sometimes how life can go, and I am accepting where I am in the moment.

I am also crafting what I believe to be a better plan for trading, which should hopefully provide me with better results.

What’s my new day trade plan?

Firstly, I am in the process of getting full-time work. Where my goal is to save £4000, roughly around $5000. Which will give me a much greater account size than I have previously had for trading.

Meanwhile, I will continue my study and development to stay in the game. From a combination of reading, watching other traders recaps, and by continuing to analyse the technicals of stocks etc.

I aim to develop swing trading around working full time, once I have built the funds for my account. As I am working and saving, I will paper swing trade to develop my skills. I have previously studied swing trading and kept a watch list for swing trades for about a year now so I am quite excited for this.

Keep focused on trading

Withdrawing your trading account can seem like a backstep or even as though I have failed. However, I don’t believe in that. There is a lesson to be learnt from everything. One of the greatest things I struggled with trading a small account, is covering the platform fees of the broker, whilst building the consistency of probability. Naturally, trading with a larger account would make this step easier.

6 Stages To Make Money Day Trading

Do you want to find out what is involved and discover the process to be able to make money day trading? Day trading is a HUGE topic with a lot of information and confusing language. More often than not, people will have a go at trading before ever really learning anything about it, which results in massive losses.

This can create the thought that trading is risky and costly. Of course, there is a risk involved with day trading. Which is why it is crucial to understand that there is a process to follow, to be able to make money day trading. After all, if you do not have a solid education, proven experience and a personal set of rules to follow, consequently you are not a day trader you are a gambler.

In this article, I share with you an outline of the topics and steps involved to be able to make money day trading. Rather than explain each step in greater detail, which would require additional blog posts. This article focuses on the steps involved in the journey to make money day trading.

6 Stages To Make Money Day Trading

Before we explore each stage of the trading journey, it is important to understand one thing.

How do you make money day trading?

As a simple answer, the key to making money from day trading is to be a consistently profitable trader.

Whereby the goal is not to always win and never lose, but to be consistently profitable. Losing trades are okay as long as they do not consistently outweigh the winning trades over a duration of time.

The trick, as Mark Douglas would say, is to think in terms of probabilities and with a ‘series of trades’ perspective. Success from day trading comes from the long term, not from each individual day.

For instance, day trading is risky and mostly unpredictable in the same way as coin flip betting. However, from a combination of study, experience, dedication and discipline, you are in effect weighting the coin of probability to your advantage.

Stage 1: Learning Phase

The learning phase is broken into two sections. To be a consistent winner and make money day trading, you need to have 50% of…

100% Technical Understanding

This involves an in-depth period of studying and learning all about the technical side of trading.

Here are some examples of trading topics that you need to be fluent in.

Charting software

As a day trader, an understanding of stock charts is essential. There are different companies available that offer charting software. Some are more expensive than others and the features you require can depend on your personal trading strategy.

I currently use Trading View for my charts as they are both affordable and offer everything that I need for day trading. Such as; live market data, access to stocks and a variety of customisable tools aka technical indicators for analysing charts.

Generally your charting software will give options for different time periods for your charts.

E.g. 1 minute, 5 minutes and daily charts. Which are suited for most intra-day traders. In contrast, swing traders usually use a larger time frame chart.

E.g. 30 minute, 4 hour and daily chart or even the 1 hour, daily and weekly chart.

Alongside your charting software and how to set up charts for analysis, a day trader must have an understanding of candlesticks and what they represent.

Technical indicators

There are many different technical indicators available to use for analysing charts. Although your choice of indicator can depend on your trading strategy, generally you need to have an understanding of the common technical indicators and how to use them to assist with analysing charts.

Common technical indicators: Moving Averages (simple and exponential), Volume Weighted Average Price (VWAP), Volume Bars and the Relative Strength Index (RSI).

Chart patterns

Chart patterns are essential for day traders as they can help to determine key areas for either entering into a trade, or exiting a trade.

Common chart patterns: Bull Flags, Bear Flags, Flat Tops, 1234 (ABCD) and the Cup and Handle pattern.

Technical analysis

In addition to the above mentioned points regarding charts. Another key component of technical analysis is the ability to recognise key levels of resistance, support and pivot points on a chart.

Usually this involves analysing different time frames for that chart, and more often than not, the daily chart presents the most accurate levels for this.

Risk management

Alongside the technical understanding required for analysing charts, it is essential for a successful day trader to have a solid understanding of risk management.

Contrary to what people may think, to make money trading is not about having lots of winning trades, it is about reducing the amount of losers.

Capital preservation is key for anyone wanting to make a living or a career out of day trading. I would highly recommend that you carry out plenty of study and research into risk management.

Broker software

As technology has developed enabling day traders to carry out trades from their computers rather than in the pits of the stock exchange, having a reliable broker software is important to make money day trading.

There are many broker platforms available, depending on your budget, location and requirement for features. I presently use the broker Trade Zero, as they allows me to trade from my current location in the UK. Alongside this, they are reliable, affordable and provide the features that I require for my day trading strategy.

Common features required from a broker: Order entry window, level 1, level 2, hotkeys and time and sales.

Finding stocks to trade

Stock selection forms a large part of your trading strategy. Whether you are trading large-cap stocks, small-cap stocks, for longer hold time periods (swing) or fast-paced scalp trading, knowing what types of stocks to trade is essential for success.

There are different platforms available to help you to locate stocks within your strategy.

Finviz offer both free and paid subscriptions. Their software includes stock scanners where you can filter for specific stock criteria.

E.g. price, gap, volume, sector etc.

Alongside scanners, Finviz also offer a news platform and extra features.

Another stock scanning software to consider is Trade Ideas. Slightly more expensive but more sophisticated and intelligent, Trade Ideas is my favourite platform to use for finding stocks to trade.

In addition to stock scanning software, finding relevant news for stocks also forms a large part of a trading strategy. Generally, depending on the type of news, certain stocks combined with breaking news can be ideal for potential trades.

E.g. if you are scalp trading with your trades lasting between 10 seconds and a couple of minutes, then a stock with breaking news which is moving rapidly is an ideal stock for a potential trade entry.

Benzinger is a really useful website which offers fundamental information for stocks, along with a news feed.

Focusing on your strategy

Mastering all of the above points is critical to be a successful day trader. In addition, a strategy involves taking all of the above and combining it together to form your personal trader tool belt of knowledge.

E.g. finding a suitable stock, discovering news, analysing charts, highlighting areas of support/resistance, recognising any chart patterns, planning risk and planning your trade.

Common trader strategies:

– Momentum trading (trend trading) which involves discerning the trend (long or short), highlighting a low-risk entry point and taking a position following the general trend.

– Reversals aka contrarian trading. Whereby a stock that has trended in one direction and, over time, becomes weaker from losing volume can be ready to reverse. Generally, when confirmation of a reversal is shown, a trade can be taken in the reversed direction.

Trade management

Finally, the remaining part of 100% technical understanding comes from managing trades effectively.

This involves the ability to create a trade plan, knowing when to take an entry, where to place a stop order and at which point to get out of the trade. Another factor to take into consideration is the size of your position, which when trading stocks, means the number of shares that you purchase.

100% Emotional Discipline

The second part to the learning phase involves learning the personal psychology and emotional discipline required, to make money day trading.

Trading is difficult and in contrast to what you might think, it is not because of the complex language and strategies that you need to learn. On the other hand, it is because of the level of emotional discipline and psychological awareness that is required to be able to make good decisions and more importantly, to stick with them.

From trading, you can experience a heightened sense of emotional reactivity. This is where your emotions can override your logical mind and the ability to execute decisions.

As a result, this can be very dangerous as emotional trading is generally a road to disaster.

Common emotions experienced in market psychology:

Fear of missing out (FOMO)

This usually presents itself when you see a stock which made a great move and you didn’t trade it. Instead, you missed the move.

FOMO can override our decision making and affect the ability to judge a setup, which results in chasing the market. As a result this generally leads to losing trades. FOMO can also be caused from comparison with others

Fear of losing money

Which leads to taking no trades or, on the other hand, completely over-trading. Whereby both of these side effects are not constructive to becoming a successful day trader.

The fear of losing money affects the decision-making process and is usually caused by a lack of experience and/or taking too greater a position.

Fear of failure

Affects the ability to think positively for the trading career and is usually caused by short term loss. This type of emotional response can come from mistrusting your trading strategy and/ or doubting your ability to execute it.

These are just a few examples of how our emotions can have an impact whilst trading. Emotional trading can lead to bad habits, consistent red days and even account failure.

Consequently, to make money day trading takes 100% emotional discipline.

How can we manage our emotions?

Instead of trying to manage our emotions or even remove them, an effective way of overcoming the obstacle of emotional trading is from building our awareness to recognise our emotions.

A useful way to develop this is through the regular practice of mindfulness, especially before any trading activity.

Remember that discipline is a practice. The key is to trade the market, not your emotions.

Stage 2: Practice In A Simulated Environment

This stage involves applying all you have learnt in order to test and implement a strategy, in a safe environment with ‘fake money’.

The duration of trading in a simulator is dependent on personal circumstances and can be anywhere from 1 month – 1 year +. Many brokers offer a simulator as part of their package. It is best to check with them to ensure that the simulator provides everything you require to trade, including live market data.

Previously when I was practicing in a simulator, I used the simulator offered by Warrior Trading, which is also where I carried out my trading education.

Screen time experience is essential. As experience will ultimately prove whether or not you can be consistently green. Furthermore, your experience and consistency trading in a simulator will lead you onto stage 3 of your trading journey.

Stage 3: Transition To Live Trading

Transitioning from trading in a simulator to trading in a live account can be daunting for some as it is quite a personal experience. To assist with the transition, you could mix it up.

E.g. 2 days trading live and 3 days trading paper.

Trading live is where you really begin to learn to deal with emotions. Which over a period of time will bring self-confidence.

Remember that developing personal psychology for trading is also a skill, which is better developed in a live environment. As you need the reality of making or losing money, to really recognise and develop your emotional awareness.

Furthermore, it helps to focus on taking the best trades possible, along with focusing your attention on trade management rather than your profit & loss (p&l).

Stage 4: Survive Until You Thrive

Once you have transferred from a simulator to a live trading environment, your focus at this point in your trading journey should be survival.

It can seem natural to want to focus on making lots of money. However, this can lead to overtrading or trading from an emotional place, which can quickly lead to a fast depleting account.

In contrast, the focus should be on not losing, instead of winning. In addition, aiming for a-quality trades from the strategy that you practised in the simulator will increase your chances of winning green trades.

Cutting losers quickly is essential, along with remembering that patience is key. Instead of trying to make the most money each day, follow your personal rules and guidelines.

The goal is to survive until you gain enough experience, confidence and consistency to scale up where you can really begin to thrive.

Stage 5: Gradually Increase Profits

As confidence and consistency grow, you can gradually scale up your share size to effectively scale up the size of your winners.

E.g. from 200 shares to 500, 1000, 2000 etc.

Scaling up can be done over a period of time such as after a month of consistent profits from the previous position size.

Always allow for the ebb and flow of the market, so as to avoid scaling up at a low point and consequently, taking bigger losers.

Slowly but surely this will result in building the account size, which will, in turn, give more buying power for taking greater position sizes, resulting in greater wins.

After all of the learning and hard work, this is where the snowball effect can really come in to play. The key is to prove the strategy first, the money is made in the learning, the patience and the discipline. Then it’s just a matter of scaling up but still trading in the same way.

Stage 6: Long Term Capital Growth

Over a period of time from making consistent profits, and as your account size grows, position sizes can be increased to allow for greater gains.

However, remember to refine your strategy and to continuously readjust to surrounding conditions.

It is important to know when the time is right to push and trade aggressively, or when to be conservative, taking fewer trades and smaller position sizes.

Fifteen months ago, I knew nothing of the stock market and day trading. I presumed it was a rich man’s game and quite honestly I wasn’t even too interested. However that all changed when personal success stories crept into my YouTube feed of people who were making hundreds, even thousands in just one day from day trading. Consequently, this caught my attention and I asked myself, “What is Day Trading?”

Since then,

I have studied the heck out of the stock market.

Realised the obscene amount of money that you can make in a matter of minutes,

and now I’m completely hooked!

In this post, I will share with you an outline of what day trading actually is.

What Is Day Trading?

What is day trading?

Firstly let us look at what trading is.

Trading is a term used to describe the purchase and sale of goods. There are different timescales with trading.

These are:

Day trading, as you can imagine, is the purchase and sale of goods usually within the timescale of one day.
Swing trading uses a larger time frame than day trading. With swing trading, the goods are usually held for a longer period such as overnight, over a period of days, or sometimes even weeks.
The next step from swing trading would be medium-term investments. Whereby the goods are held longer than the time period associated with swing trading. Generally, these are held for a period of months.

Different types of trading

We have explored the timescales, now let us look at the different types of trading.

The stuff that gets sold and bought!

Day Trading is the buying and selling of stocks (company shares) on the same day, most often the transaction is carried out online.

So what does this mean?

Generally, the trick with trading is the ability to predict the movement of a stock (whether the price is going up or down). To do this, traders use what is known as technical analysis to analyse company charts and plan entries/ exits for trades.

There are many factors involved in a day trading strategy but the general concept is that you buy a stock and sell it at a higher price, making a profit from the difference. This is also known as going long.

E.g. You buy 100 shares of a company stock priced at $5.00, the stock rise to $5.50 and you sell the stock, making a profit of $50.

There are different types of stock available for day trading which can depend on your personal preferences and budget.

Day Trading Small Capital Stocks (Small Caps)

Small Caps are small growing companies, which tend to be cheaper to day trade, as their stock prices are usually between $1-$10 per share. They also move differently and require a different strategy to large caps.

Day Trading Large Capital Stocks (Large Caps)

Large Caps are more established companies with larger capital (larger financial wealth).

You have probably heard of many large capital companies, e.g. Apple, Netflix, Facebook etc. There are many different large caps and their prices vary. Generally, stock prices range from $20 + depending on the company.

At the time of writing this article, a large-cap company such as Facebook is currently trading at $184.00 per share.

Consequently here lies a large difference between the small caps and large caps for day trading…

In order to buy 100 shares of a small caps company stock trading at $5, you would require an account balance of at least $500. Which basically means that you need to have enough money in your account, to buy the amount of stock that you want.

On the other hand, to purchase 100 shares of a large-cap company, such as Facebook trading at $184.00 per share, you would require an account balance of $18,400.

Although it is possible for a beginner trader to day trade some of the more affordable large-cap companies, small-cap companies provide a more accessible option for beginner traders.

Penny Stock Trading

As with day trading, penny stock trading involves the buying and selling of low price stocks on the same day. Again, they are often online and profit can be made from the short term price fluctuations.

The difference with penny stock trading is that the penny stocks are usually between $0.01 – $1 per share. According to the SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission), penny stocks are considered to be any stock trading below $5 per share.

Although they can be another affordable option for beginner traders, they also bring with them new areas of risk because logically if the stock prices are that cheap, it is usually because the companies are weak.

Forex Trading (Currencies)

Forex trading includes the trading of currencies. This type of trading can be carried out in a day (day trading), or held for a longer time period (swing trading). Forex trading includes all aspects of buying, selling and exchanging currencies at current or determined prices.

Futures Trading

Futures Trading is the trading of a contract which details the buying/ selling of an asset.

A futures contract is an agreement between the buyer and the seller of the contract. Whereby some asset, commodity or currency will be bought and sold for a specific price, on a specific day in the future (including a contract expiration date) and you would make the difference.

Commodities are physical goods including; corn, crude oil, gold, cotton, coffee, wheat etc.

Cryptocurrency Trading

A cryptocurrency is a form of digital currency that can be sent from one person to another anywhere around the world. There are different types of cryptocurrencies that can be traded including one of the most well-known Bitcoin.

Below is a daily chart for Bitcoin against the US Dollar. Each candlestick on the chart below represents a day. As you can see from the chart, there is an uptrend over time.

This chart shows just how much Bitcoin can move.

The lower red dotted line indicates the price of $5091.10, which was the price of Bitcoin in April 2019.

In late June, the price went to a high of $13,761.70, as shown by the upper red dotted line. This is a massive gain in a matter of a couple of months.

However, the risk is also just as huge, as the price is now currently at $9441.10 in late August 2019.

This demonstrates the potential gain and risk involved with trading. I imagine that people gained a lot from this move, but some also lost a lot as well.

Options Trading

Options trading is very similar to futures trading. With options trading, you are buying/ selling contracts which give the holder the right to buy or sell a stock at a specific price by a specific date.

However with options, as the name suggests it gives the buyer/ seller the right but not the obligation to buy or sell an asset at a specific price at any time during the life of the options contract.

Options trading can be an affordable way to trade large-cap companies.

E.g. Instead of buying 100 shares of Amazon, (currently trading at $1780.12). With options, you buy a ‘call option‘, which is a contract giving you the right to buy 100 shares of Amazon at a specific price (strike price) by a specific date (expiration date).

The cost of buying the call option is generally much cheaper than buying the actual stock of Amazon. As a result, options can be an affordable trading option for beginners, but they have their own areas of risk involved. Therefore, I would certainly recommend plenty of study, research and consideration before taking any trades.

What Is Day Trading – In Conclusion

I hope that this article gives you a good outline of day trading, the different types of trading and periods of time associated with trading. As you can see, with trading, there are many different options and routes available to take. These mainly depend on your budget and personal preference.

There are also different markets available to day trade. Personally, I day trade stocks on the American stock market as I find that there are more companies available and it historically it is a strong resilient market. However, you can also trade stocks with the London Stock Exchange, Australian Securities Exchange etc.

I day trade small caps companies in the American stock market. Mainly because as a beginner I didn’t have much capital to use for trading. However the more I learnt about the strategy used for day trading small caps, the more I enjoyed it. They tend to move quickly, providing fast-paced trading opportunities known as scalping and are a great potential for gains.

If you have not come across the term passive income before, this basically means that you carry out the work once, and then continue to receive payment for your efforts.

On the other hand, active income is the usual form of employment, whereby you exchange your precious time for money. An affiliate income has the potential to enable you to make money even whilst your asleep!

So to sum up why you need affiliate marketing in your life; it gives you the freedom to make money anywhere, enables you to help your readers and allows you the possibility to make money while you sleep… Pretty awesome right?!

What Is Affiliate Marketing?

Affiliate Marketing is where you, the affiliate, place an affiliate link on your social media account, website or blog, and earn money when people purchase a product through your link. Essentially you are converting your readers into customers for the affiliate company that you are promoting products/ services for, and receiving a commission from that conversion.

An Affiliate Income is a form of passive income. Whereby once you have created a blog post such as a review containing your affiliate links, it takes minimal work to maintain that original blog post, whilst earning money years after creating it.

I have come across bloggers who still continue to make thousands from an affiliate blog post that they had created around 5 years previously. A pretty clever investment!

Another brilliant bonus of affiliate marketing is that it is very affordable. If you want to invest your time into something that can bring you rewards, but you don’t have much spare cash for bigger investments, affiliate marketing is a great way to start!

Affiliate Marketing has the added benefit that you are not responsible for any order processing, dispatching etc. It is less work than creating a product yourself. Simply promote products/ services that you believe in and promote them anywhere you want!

You can begin with your social media account or purchase affordable web hosting and create your own blog platform to share your affiliate links.

Why Passive Income?

Simply put, we have one life. As much as people tend to avoid it, that one life does have an expiry date. Most people follow the general path of life as dictated by society.

This includes;

You are born > You go to school > Get a Job > Get married > Get a house > Retire at… what is it now? 70? > and that is life.

Rather, that is life following the safe active income route as promoted by society.

Passive income changes this and gives you a different option. Consequently, to begin with it does take dedication and effort to create solid foundations for passive income, but don’t let this dishearten you.

While you may have to work 1-2 years building a solid foundation for generating passive income, (although many people have done this a lot sooner!). The general pattern with passive income is that you invest that time and effort once, and then continue to make a profit and benefit from that one-time effort.

I am so excited to share this post with you today, all about passive income. I first discovered passive income a few years ago, when my husband accidentally made £300 in one month from a music video that he created… but that’s another story. First of all, if you are not already familiar with the term…

What is passive income?

It may be easier, to begin with, to describe the opposite, active income.

Active income is a form of income that I am sure we are all very well acquainted with, where we all exchange our time for money, most commonly by working in a job for either an employer or for yourself if you are self-employed. Active income means that each month, we continue to trade our time for money, and this continues more often than not until retirement.

So… passive income. Passive income is where we work once, and continue to make money from that one-time working effort. I’m sure you’ve heard of the phrase, “making money while you sleep”… well, passive income makes this phrase a reality!

There are a variety of different methods that you can use to create a passive income, and more often than not, it is not a quick road to riches and takes dedication to build necessary foundations. However, from the initial effort of creating those foundations, passive income can certainly reward you in the long run.

But the intention of this blog post is not for me to tell you what passive income is, how you can get it and what it can do for you. (If you would be interested in a post like that, let me know in the comments!). Making Money Online With Passive Income

A method of making money online through passive income is by using affiliate marketing on your website/ blog.

Affiliate marketing is where you can work as an affiliate for a company who offers a product, usually a product that you have used previously and would recommend. By signing up with the company as an affiliate, this means that you will receive a unique URL link to a web page where the product can be purchased. The link is unique because, for every person who follows that link and makes a purchase on the web page, you will receive a commission.

This is where making money blogging has become highly popular, because by including affiliate links in blog posts, bloggers can build up a nice passive income. The beauty of this method of passive income is not only because you do not need to have a massive amount of money to invest before you can make money back, but because bloggers continue to make money from blog posts that they had written years ago!

This leads to Michelle from Making Sense of Cents. Michelle started her personal finance blog in 2011, she currently earns over $100,000 per month in passive income! This is mainly from affiliate marketing through her blog.

When I first read this book, I was broke. It felt like a sign when I stumbled upon this book like I was being guided. I’m not sure how you feel about the idea of a greater consciousness, my mother in law calls them god winks. Most people are so consumed with their lives, that they fail to look around them and notice their own signs and guidance.

The night I finished reading this book I found out that I had won a competition, and I won a free course on Facebook strategies.

This course was something that I had wanted to purchase for months prior but never committed due to the funds at the time. I managed to attain it regardless. The funny thing is that I never felt broke, I had a rich mindset. I knew what I wanted, and I was going to achieve it. It’s incredible how powerful our thoughts are, and how we can truly create our own reality.
